I want to drain & re-fill the coolant in the radiator of my '97 Expedition 4.6L. Does my Expy's radiator have a drain plug on the bottom? If so, how do I get to it? If not, is it ok to simply remove the lower radiator hose & drain it that way?

The drain is on the passenger side of the radiator, on the back side near the bottom. It's made of plastic, and has a large flat "handle" It does not look like the old fashioned metal pet*****.

It's me again; I'm still having trouble finding the drain plug onmy Expy. It doesn't seem to be where you said it should be. I see some sort of plug on the lower right side of the radiator. What I mean by lower right side is: It's not on the bottom of the radiator & it's not on the back of the radiator. It's on the passenger side of the vehicle & on the side of the radiator.

The "plug" I see is an off-white, sort of yellow-ish colored plastic hex head screw of some type. The hex head is approx. 1/2"-5/8" tall. Am I looking at the right thing?

Wayne, my bad. Apparently I was confusing another vehicle of mine with the Expy when I wrote the first post. I just popped the hood of my Expy and looked. It's an off-white plastic hexhead nut positioned on a very short plastic tube on the lower back side of the radiator.
