Look for the six-speed tap-shift in '06, but the HP/Torque bump will probably wait until whenever Ford introduces the new '07 PSD. Neither Ford nor GM can stand to be out-gunned by the other.

Shifts like an automatic, or can be shifted manually- should have a switch on the steering wheel in addition to the lever. One of the nicest features of the Allison is the "tap down" feature when you're towing- crest a hill, tap the brakes, and it downshifts.

I call it grade braking - I love it also. If your not pulling anything - you'd never know it was there.
