Okay.............would the Illinois Chapter members prefer to have sale/wanted items posted in the classified threads?

Or.............would we want to allow them here in the Chapter threads?

We could create a "sticky" to post sale/wanted items.

Personally speaking, I would prefer to keep the Chapter threads open to Chapter business/meetings/event news.

No one has an opinion? We could allow trucks/parts for sale in the chapter forum, or request they be posted in the classified section.

 

If they were to be posted here you would at least be able to go see what your lookin to buy instead of a picture and shipping and getting ripped off. p.s. just found out I was accepted into the chapter thanks .

 

the trick to the classifieds is that many of the items are too far away to be reasonable. Many of the chapters have adopted a sticky to be the accepted place to post for sale and wanted items. There will likely always be those that don't pay attention to it, and still post in the general forum, with or without the sticky. You can even put a ban on them, and I gurantee, someone will still come along and post them all the same, so it seems logical to me to have at least an attempt to allow the posts to be here, just try to be on a single thread that can be cleaned out from time to time.

 

I would certainly prefer a sticky here for 'local' stuff. Or at least get a location column in the classified section.

 

Well................with the input we've had now...................I see no reason NOT to allow Truck/parts sale items in the regular Illinois Chapter forums.

I would suggest that when posting a truck/parts for sale that the seller also post in the classified forum as well.

I think you should put classifieds in the classifieds section but post here that you have items for sale or wanted. It would be to your advantage (bigger audience) to post in classifieds section. The post here would be to help out a chapter member that may not have pay shipping.

 

You have a very good point truckfarmer..that just may be the best solution to this. Simply make mention of an item and post it in the classified section.

I wiould like things forsale in IL to be posted in this CHapter. It would encourage "bonding" between members.

 

So long as the items are truck or parts related and the members are ok with it.

The idea works for me if the members feel it belongs here as well as the classified section.
