Question 2005 F250 radio/stereo removal

How does one remove the new radios in the 2005 F250's? They seem to lack the standard release holes that the older ones had.

You have to pry off the front facia around the radio/driver area/controls section. Start pulling it off on the driver side from the top and put your steering wheel all the way down. You have to pull off wiring harnesses as you go.

Thanks,
Chris

DoudD, I have a 2005 F250 and have the AM / FM radio only. Do you happen to be removing a CD player. If so, I would be interested in buying it. I hope it is OK to ask that on this forum. Johnw

If you go to my gallery you can find a link to my website which has the .pdf. Just pull the dash off and unscrew the radio. Takes like 45min for a complete stereo install. I take mine apart all the time. Been upgrading my DDX 7015 since I bought in in Dec (nav, sirius, amp controller and such). You can also do a search from the main page.

Thanks - I tried to go to your gallery but didn't see where you have one.

Ford should have just left the removal the way it has always been,,,

argann, great description. Your reference being able to use a 2004 F150 aftermarket radio plug. Do you have any information as to weather the F150 radio will fit in a 2005 F250. I see several cd players on ebay for the 2004 F150, but nothing for the F250. Your thoughts? John

Argann,
Nice job on the PDF file for dash removal. Do you know where I could find a wiring diagram for the stereo and speaker wires. I have a Pio AVIC-N1 installed and went to add some new speakers over the weekend and don't really know which one is pos. and neg. I heard you could go get an adapter to use the stock plug but I already cut them off so I might as well wire them to the speaker.

Dash removal info

I'm a new member so I can't email yet. I need to know how to remove my single cd player to install a cd-6 player that I just bought off of ebay. Sounds like argann has a pdf file that would help. Can someone post a link?

Thanks,

Al
