Hello. our 02 explorer recently got into a minor rear end accident Tailgate, Glass, And bumper cover. I drove it home after the accident and the light was not on. It sat for about 2 weeks(INSURANCE BS). I actually repaced the parts myself and painted the them. Onthe way back from my buddys where I repaired the vehicle. The "Check Fuel Cap" light went on. After I got home I did check the cap, it was on and in the locked position. Today I got back in it and the light was on again, so I checked again looked fine. I stoped by advanced auto and they suggested the fuel cap gasket was worn, they had a cap in stock so I replaced it. Guess what, the light still comes on. I also filled the tank it was at 1/4 tank. I looked underneath the truck and with a full tank there are no visable leaks or wet spots on the filler tube or the 2 smaller hoses that run by it. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance Wayne
