I was trying to find a lift kit for my Escape and all i could find was a 1 inch lift, and i found a 3 inch body lift. Does anyone know of a company that makes lift kits for an Escape?? i was also wondering if some one could tell me if a body lift is bad for the vehicle....i thought i heard that they were not good but am not sure... Thanx

I guess if you lift it, you have more chance of rollover and die.

 

Can't use a body lift on a uni-body vehicle. There is no frame to stick the hockey pucks on top of.

H & R makes a 1" and BDS makes a 2" lift.

And...if the lift kit is a well engineered kit, the chance of roll over is not increased.

Just keep in mind that these vehicles are not hard core 4-wheelers and a lift will not make them any better at it.

 

Any lift kit raises the center of gravity and increases the chance of rollover in avoidance maneuvers. Unless somebody's found away to lower the C.O.G. and raise the truck.

A properly designed lift kit will still give you handling characteristics to normal, maybe. Usually a bit stiffer.

 

I had a Suzuki Samurai, the one that started the rollover scare back in '88. It had an extremely bad suspension from the factory, no more than 3/4" front spring travel, that is what made it rollover prone, and I could feel it in tight turns bottoming out. I had a 3" Rancho lift installed and all of that went away. The increased spring travel and heavier shocks would keep the tires glued to the road in most cases, way better than the stock suspension ever could.

 

Will 31x10.50/15 or 30x9.50/15 tires fit on Escape 4x4 lifted 1.75inch with no rubbing?

 

i don´t know if it´s actuell, but here in germany eas once an maverick/escaope with an 2" lift from Old Man Emu

 

if it is actually soon:
last year i´ve seen an ´02 maverick / escape with an 2" OldManEmu lift

 

Keep in mind that the Escape has four half shafts (eight CV joints). I would not install a lift kit in an Escape for that reason alone.

 

Old Man Emu makes a suspension lift kit for Escapes. The kit gives a safe 1.75" lift, and is available through Rocky Road Outfitters: Ford Escape Lift Kit: OME Ford Escape Lift Kit I'm thinking of trying the kit out on my '05.

 

I would look i to this if my Tribute wasn't 11 years and (still) 288k miles. I'm just not sure putting $300 worth of springs under it would be wise. But then again, I have noticed it does seem to sit slightly lower than most others.

 

You're going for extreme CV joint wear?

 

I'm a little curious about doing a lift kit on my Escape. I would like to know how it works out and how you like it if anyone does it.
