This is my first time on a Holley rebuild and I have a couple of questions. Would appreciate any help. Carb is a Holley 4160. List #6919.

1. Replacing the accelorator pump - The diagram shows a check ball above the acc. pump but there wasn't one when I took the old one apart. Is this something that should be there?

2. Concerning the pump discharge nozzle - Diagram shows a "pump check ball weight" and a "Pump Discharge Nozzle Check Ball" below the pump discharge needle valve, neither of which I remember coming out. Are these absent on some models? or did I misplace them.

Did ya find them? The acc pump check ball is usually held in by a small strap.

 

Yeah, I found em. The strap that holds the acc pump ball in had fallen out before I took the carb apart and was stuck between the metal and the diaphram in the acc pump. After spending hours searching the work bench and floor around it I decided to take a chance and dug the old acc pump out of the trash. There it was. Never found the ball but there was a replacement in the kit.

got the carb together and it runs fine.
