There is an article in the Seattle PI today talking about biodiesel and it's potential future. Anyone using biodiesel in their PSD's? Any mods required? Any problems? Sounds like they have plans to build a oil extraction plant nearby for making raw materials for biodiesel.

 

You live in Washington like me, one of my customers who is into alternative fuels a lot has told me this guy has a good clean setup. And his prices are worth the drive.

I am a Ambulance board member in the county I live in. We were selected as a test site for BIO-Diesel. We have 4 e450's each having 7.3's. Well, anyway we did not see any lose in power, mileage gain was around 1 MPG, and the garage walls stayed cleaner. Another thing we notice that these boxes can sit and idle for 45 minutes to and hour while on call. So, we are waiting to see how the pistons will fair using BIO-D.

when I was first checking out BIO Diesel there was a lot of concern about injector O-ring in powerstrokes but over the last couple years those concerns seem to have faded as far as I can tell I've used some of my own Bio in my truck (a few gallons ) it ran real nice, B20(20%) is becoming more availble across the country but the price is about the same as petro diesel.

 

I was watching the History Channel special the other night about George Washington Carver. They mentioned that Rudolph Diesel, the man himself, ran the the first diesels on peanut oil! Can't be all that bad if the inventer himself approved it!
