88 302 EFI Serpentine belt problem

88 Bronco 302 EFI AOD AC

We had the air pump go out and dont have the money to buy a new one, so we tryed to bypass that and the AC pump by using a shorter belt. The belt we have was the smallest one we could find at Schucks or Napa, 83 1/2". Its too loose, slips on the crank and water pump pulley. Anybody know where I can find a 82" 6 rib belt ? Any other ideas ? Were short on cash and need to get this on the road. Thanks, Trey.

I am not sure where to find that size, but if you leave your smog pump off for too long it can mess your cats up.

I believe that there is a pulley made to put in place of the pump so that you can use the regular belt. I don't know who makes them or where you buy them. I would start by going to an auto parts store and asking them, or try a Google search. I wouldn't think that it would be too expensive.

Yeah, that's it. Thanks Kem

They make them for A/C compressor elimination too.

Thanks guys. We got it fixed.... for now. We took the AIR pump apart and cleaned it out and packed the bearings with grease. We are planning on gettin the parts from summit to do away with the pumps, but dont have the money now and needed to get the thing on the road.
