I have had my truck for a day and now its time for mods

hey Guys Ive been lurking here for a while trying to gather some information about what I should do to my truck.. all I can say is GREAT website. I just bought an 02 Hd truck and I love it. But i have to start messing with stuff now.

my planned mods are: Lightning blower pulley, guages, Super chips Micro Tuner, K N intake and that should work.

My questions are mainly about the blower. I know that I must have a chip if I increase the boost, why?. will my SCMT do this or is there something else that i need? also where is the best place to buy pullies and do I need to buy a belt too? wheres the best place to buy parts for these trucks? one last question. What are the best stock replacement shocks to buy? bilsteins? and where can I get them?

sorry for the long frist post but i really have a lot to learn.
thanks guys and have a good night.

You should check out the National Harley Truck Owner's Club. I'm not sure what their URL is, but they have a forum at www.nloc.net.

For mods there is a lot of info in previous posts about them, and even more in the NLOC forums. They used to say you couldn't run a pulley without a chip, but there are many people now that prefer the stock program with a pulley because it has a safer air fuel ratio and timing curve. It seems like most people get more gain from a chip with no pulley than they do with a pulley and no chip.

For suspension stuff check out the RUSlow performance section on NLOC. I'm going to buy some QA1's from Stan in a month or two. That is the route I would go, especially if lowering is in the plans. The QA1's are adjustable and rebuildable. They are more expensive initially, but probably cheaper in the long run
