Anyone else notice KICK-FM gone?

They just started a new rap station and gave KICK-FM the boot.

I was on the ship for the last several days. It was there when we left. I read your post last night and didn't get to verify it for myself until I got off duty this morning. I bet I know what happened. That silly John Boy and Billy Big show. That thing was just annoying! So, any word on a country music station taking its place?

It looks like we're down to just 1 station for now.

I agree, I think what probably killed the ratings was that John Boy & Billy Show. The station would have probably done a heck of a lot better if they would have let Joe Hoppel continue to do his morning show from when he was with WCMS. If I wanted to listen to something like that I would just turn on FM99 during the morning, Tommy & Rumble can get old after a while but they are a lot better then John Boy & Billy.

Eagle 97 is alright, they would be a lot better if they played more then just the same 10 songs over and over. I don't like Jimmy Ray at all either, if Eagle 97 was really smart they would can him and hire Joe Hoppel and go to a format more like KICK FM had.

I agree about Jimmy Ray. Funny thing, though. Everyone I talk to says the same thing about him- He is simply annoying! How does he still have a job? Must be part owner or something. There is another station, though. Try 105.7 out of Elizabeth City. Reception won't be as good, but it is an alternative. Maybe time to go with Sirius radio, huh? I'm giving it some sirius thought for when I have to start driving to Richmond everyday...

I used to have Sirius radio but I returned it because of some problem I had with the version I purchased. I did some more research into the two and I'm going to go ahead and go with XM this time around. They have the MLB games next year which is a massive plus for me.

XM has been around a bit longer, too, hasn't it? Good point about the MLB. Don't get to see near enough of the Braves these days. Seems they are always on the pay channels. BTW, I set that other station on my vehicles. The reception isn't great, but at least it comes in somewhat when the eagle plays ten minutes of commercials.

Yeah I need to go in and reprogram my radio now, now I need to pick a new channel to add to my FM buttons. These stations always changing is becoming a real drag.

Oh BTW, GO METS!

I thought you were cool up til that statement! J/K, seems kinda funny, though, that the Mets spent all those millions to take second place in the division!!

Go Braves!!

heres what happened

up here there is a station called 99.1 whfs its owners own a whole bunch of stations all up and down the east coast. well they sold their respective stations to the highest bidder because they were getting ready to file chapter 13 bankrupsy. our 99.1 was a pretty cool rock/alternative station and its now a latino station. go fig. their taking over. so thats what happend. if ya get chance post something in some of the other east coast chapers and find out how many other stations suddeny died. its a bunch. they did em all on the same day at the same time with no warning. kinda weird that they can do that huh?
