There are some good places along Hatcher Pass. We spent quite a bit of time playing at Jim Creek this last summer. I'm really missing the mud. I might make a trip up just to check it out. I haven't gone up there during the winter.

Sorry no info here for the Anchorage area but if you do ever make it over to Valdez, Pump 12 or the McCarthy road I can recommend some great rides.

I have to ask, are we talking truck or 4-wheeler's. Some if not most of our trails will only accomidate the smaller.

Couple of trails here to ride on. If you got a winch and dont mind scratching it up with alders there are a couple of trails on the McCarthy road that have ghost towns and out of this world views of the Wrangell Mountains and their glaciers. We do a trip 1-2 times a year up there. Biggest problems we run into is the mud bogs, river crossing and the beavers that like to damn up the trails.

Anyway if you make it over these parts and want some recommendations let me know.

Isnt that stuff great. For the most part bomber proof. Couple of trails here locally and a few up country. Pinks, Kings or Silvers. Keeps the local economy from starving. They are trying a king pond this summer so might be some good king fishing 5 years from now. Have to wait and see. I go out with my oldest and cast a line for pinks here and there. I know enough commerical fisherman so I can always get fish if I need them. Hopefully we will have a summer like last year.
