Good Time/Place for Pictures

I got a real nice Birthday present - a Canon Digital Rebel 300D SLR. I takes all the same lenses I have for my 35mm Rebel. I've been playing with it - man this thing takes great pics. Looks like I'll be spending a lot of time riding around taking pics....

I've been saying for years I was going to learn to take good pictures and learn what all the settings are on cameras, but never took the time to do it. Basically because it was too expensive to burn roll after roll of film just trying to learn. Now I can really play some.

Anyone a photographer in the group?

Only difference in that one and mine is I got the all black casing.

I'll have to meet up with you and get some better pics of the L. The last ones came out good, but bad for the L...

Well Dave, I finally did it. Got the Rebel. I guess I just want to be like you. I've had the camera for about 6 hours now, taken about 300 pictures so far. Great for taking shots of the kids on the trampoline. It actually takes pictures when I push the shutter button, unlike my old sony, press the button wait for it wait for it click.

But unlike yours, I got the silver/black. Now I have a new project to get stuff for. Before this it was new intake, exhaust, chip, gauges,... Now I need new lenses, microdrives, tripods,... If its not one thing, its another.

See ya later,

I love mine. I wish I had bought it sooner. The money I have saved in film and development already has paid for the camera. Its great knowing you can just click away and then go back and select the ones you want before any pictures are printed.

Which card did you get? I have the Lexar 1GB, and am thinking about buying another one off ebay just in case I don't have the laptop around on a trip to download the pics onto. Either that - or I'm going to buy one of those portable 80GB hard drives.

My wife is really nervous with me. I've got the camera and the Explorer is back in town.....

We just got a cheapo 256meg card for now. I'm thinking of getting a 6gig microdrive.
That should last me for a while, maybe.
I think I'll check out ebay as well, also want another lens like 80-200mm. Want something with a little more zoom.
Off to ebay,

Look at the 70-300 Sigma lenses. I love mine. Dad has the 200, and the 300 outdoes it by a mile. Quantaray is the same as Sigma also - just named different like Ford and Mercury - Sigma being the Mercury...
