Howdy Pop's Bronco; Whenever I hear the term Early Bronco I think of the original Bobtail, but I thought they ended production in 1975, is your '77 a Full Size Bronco or a Bobtail?

I never hear of the term bobtail before.
I have done alot of research and never came accross that term.
Could you explain futher
All i know is ford made them from 66-77 and my grandfather owed 2 a 66 and a 75 i never visually see a difference.
Don't get me wrong i there is always something to learn.
I know have a1977 early bronco which to me is not a full size 78-and on bronco
The only time i hear it refered to as full size is when i order parts at partsourse.

Umm i wonder why?

Howdy Pop's Bronco, the term Bobtail is applied to the short wheelbase minimal rear overhang rigs such as the early Bronco, Toyota Landcruiser Hardtops (90" wheelbase), Jeep CJ-5 (83") Jeep CJ-7 (93") The early pre '70 Stout Scout even the littls Suzuki SJ410 could qualify... .
That's cool, if your '77 looks like your grandfather's '66 & '75 Bronco's then indeed you have one of the last Bobtails. There are a couple early bronco's still in action up here in Grande Prairie, have chatted with a few of the owners, but they have never come fourwheeling with me yet. I know there is one guy in the NA4wdA who runs one of the ugly early stout Scout's, wouldn't be surprised if there are a few early Bronco's among the 60+ members. Because I am so far away I only get together with the other NA4wdA members infrequently. Keep an eye open around Edmonton, you may be surprised by the # of 4wd's you see wearing the black diamond of the NA4wdA... . Yes my 77 is what you refer to as a bobtail.Your right there is still a few living around alberta. I have seen about 5 in total still running and i seen about 2 sitting and rusting.
And have heard of atleast three more in various conditions--as you know well known for rust.
the pic of you jeep with chains on i like best looks like its ready for what ever alberta winter has to offer.
I to have chains but havent had a chance to try them yet.
i am in the process of making my rig road worthy dont get me wrong its drivable now.
I just enjoy and feel safey driving a tight rig.

My goal is to drive the bronco up north visit some friends in grandpraire yes gp and keep heading north mybe yellowknife or alaska.
i love the outdoors what a better way to explore it.Later i will drive it down south and visit some bronco shops in WA

maybe you would be interested for a trip sometime in the future.
