I was just reading Todd525's problem and I have the same thing. My tuner is showing a code P0344, Camshaft Sensor problem. Can anyone tell me how to go about changing the sensor or should I take to a professional?

 

the sensor is pretty easy to change, it is just under the a/c compressor at about 10:00 o-clock on the front of the engine. it is held on by a 10mm bolt and has a harness plugged into it. it is easier to get to if you take off the acc. drive belt. if you have an international dealer close you can get one there cheaper than at a ford dealer. i would bring the old one with you to make sure you get the right one. it is covered under the 5 year 100,000 mile warranty and all you would have to pay is the $100.00 deductible (i just let the dealer do it under warranty when mine went out at 35,000 miles)

I talked to the dealer where I bought the truck, and they can change it pretty quick. Should I reset my to tuner to stock setting before I let them change it?

 

I would not worry about the setting on the computer. It would not have caused the cps to die so they can not have any problem with the changeout under warrantee.

 

Is there any chance that they may change any settings to my computer? I realize that if they change anything, then my tuner want work. I also realize that if I change back to the factory settings, that I will loose my error code for them to diagnose the problem, unless it happens again after I reset it.

 

YES, SET THE PCM BACK TO STOCK!! they will scan the pcm and if there is a program in it they could give you grief about it. even if it has nothing to do with the CMP they could document it for the future and use it against you on other warranty claims
