Chrome Parts

Anyone know a good chromer here in the Denver area? I want to get some costs on having some parts rechromed. I want to see if its cheaper than replacing them all.

The only chome plating shop I know of in Denver is Ajax Custom Plating, 1423 S Broadway in Denver - 303-777-8930. They do OK but maybe not show quality. They seem to have limitations on curved parts or old parts with any corrosion. A good quality plater will plate enough copper first to fill small pits. These guys do ok work but not that level of work. If you just want parts to be cleaned up and corrosion proofed like brackets or such, consider cadmium plating. The only guys that do that around here is Aero Propeller out at the Jefferson County airport. I don't have the address readily available but talk to Chris there at 303-469-1769. I have had work done by both shops and was reasonably satisfied with the results. If you have more than a few items, be sure to take pictures of everything and make a good list. Have the plater acknowlege the inventory and sign off on it. I took a bucket full of bolts, brackets, and misc small stuff to Aero Prop and they lost a few items. Probably my fault for leaving the stuff with some office nerd rather than wait for Chris to show up.

I think Denver Bumper does chrome plating too. Seems I also heard of a place like Colorado Chrome or Denver Chrome I would be interested to find out your results, this is a step a little further down on my list that will need to be addressed too.

Alert Plating at 3rd and Santa Fe. Good work and fair prices but don't be in a hurry to get it back. Patience is the key with these guys.
