Question Serpintine belt

I just bought a serpintine belt for my 99 Escort Zx2 and I ended up with a Goodyear "Gaterback" belt because when it comes to rubber products you get what you pay for and dad said ether the Gates or goodyear are omong the better choices. It was $27 so it wasn't expensive but they also had a $6 Kelly Springfield which I don't know about? What is so special about the "Gaterback goodyear? The grooves are diffrent but does that offer any advantages?
I need a timing belt next any recommendations on brands?
Thanks
Dustin
