Motorcraft, Chevron Delo, or Delvac 1300

Hey,

My parents recentally orderd a 2005 F-350 XLT Crew cab DRW with the 6.0 diesel. I'm sort of doing a planing for the truck's maintance. Heres the scenario; I work at a Tranny shop (Part time Attending High School) at the shop we've got a Mobil 1 Lube Express, yes mobil 1. We use mobil filters which the last time I checked are purolaters(someone correct me if I'm wrong). Our oil is of course mobil, we have a tank of 5W-30, 10W-30, 15W-40, and cases of the Mobil 1 and yes ATF.

I was woundering what oil would be better to use motorcraft, or Delo 400 which I can buy in bottles or the Delvac 1300.

I believe the Mobil 1 filter is a Champion filter, but by Mobil design, a great filter.
I like the Delo 15w40, a group II oil. If you have such a good easy supply of Delvac...I dont see any reason to run it also. Delo, Delvac, Rotella T are all great oils not at all likely to give you any problems.

John, you might to review the link I posted in the Delo having Moly post. Chevron Delo is now a blend and contains moly. If you like moly, it's your oil. Likewise, Mobil has reformulated most of its oil. The new Mobil One is now a Gp IV, GpV, and GpII, mostly still a PAO basestock though. As far as that product, it just keeps getting better. The Delvac, I have no public domain info to share. If it is readily available, it is a fine oil and I would certainly recommend it. It will serve you well.
