tonneau cover
I assume you're talking about the factory rails that go on top of the bed. The reason you have to take them off is because the tonneau cover frame can't clamp onto something so thick. It might look silly with a tonneau cover clamped on top of the bed rails. It would disturb the view out the back window and from what I remember, wouldn't there be an inch or two gap between the tail gate and the bottom of the tonneau cover frame? I'm not familiar with the Edge, but I think it would look real nice wittout the side rails and with the tonneau cover. -Kevin

the flareside edge has very small form fit 90 degree caps, unlike the large things on the style side.from what i can see they can be clamped on inside or from top to bottom.my caps are only maybe a 1/2 high.they are on both sides&on the gate, but not on the slim panel behind the cab.those styleside caps look more like that chevy avalanch thing.
