Thumbs up 2005 jeep liberty with 2.8l cdr diesel enigine.

Okay, take it easy on me , the other day I had the wife`s pt cruiser at the dealers for some warranty work and I was talking to a sells man who like me loves diesels and I was talking about getting rid of the pt cruiser pretty soon, but I wanted something with a diesel engine , you know another superduty or excurrsion, and he said in november jeep was coming out with 2.8L crd engine in the liberty`s. I thought that was pretty cool!! Both of our parents retired from chrysler so I`m into both brands , (ford and chrysler). Sorry if this is old news! Hopefully more diesel will be coming our way! The 2.8L is a mercedes engine.

Before you go nutty on the diesel, check into the safety ratings on those things. Remember, you have small children who will ride in there!

I hope that some of those many hidden Diesels are meant for Ford cars aswell as the smaller trucks/SUV's

I can tell you from my mother owning a liberty that it is a very nice vehicle. She's leasing hers and before that she leased a cherokee sport. She loves this thing, and is pretty hard on it. Even the 3.7 V6 gets good gas mileage, and is peppy for that thing. As far as safety, I never looked at the ratings, but overally its a great Jeep. Now that there making a diesel version, it makes it even nicer-more torque, better mileage, and the ease of modifying a diesel engine for short money.

Thumbs up

I`ve heard alot of good thing about them! I searched and the 2003 model was awarded the governments 5 star safty rating. I have not found any ratiing for the 05 yet? My wife like the size of the liberty. I want a 2002 or 2003 excursion with the 7.3L psd! She drives a 2002 pt cruiser now , and sometimes drives my 2002 f250 psd. She would drive it more buy she afraid of messing it up! Got to love those diesels!!!!!
