IL Chapter Truck Show
Here's an idea for an event for next spring. How about a truck show for IL Chapter members? We could plan this as a big event for next spring, maybe around mid-May. No judging or trophies, just a chance for us all to show off our Ford trucks. I was thinking that we could do this at a forest preserve or State park, and we could all bring food/snacks,etc. and have an IL Chapter picnic along with the truck show. All Ford trucks would be welcome, they don't all have to be mint-condtion show trucks.

OK by me, I like being outside, a Forest Preserve or State Park would be great......and I could get a spot at a campground.. we (the collective family) have a pretty nice little travel trailer. I could clear it with the campground to have a bunch of guests and their trucks. There's always a bunch of nice trucks at campgrounds, could be fun!!

Have you considered Starved Rock or Matheson State parks near Ottawa? They are right off I-80 and I-39.

That's a nice area for sure. My suggestion? White Pines State Park in Oregon Ill.
Just off Route 64.

Truck Show - 2005
Wow John...you found a winning idea here! Excellent job! We can discuss this at the November meeting to begin to collect site ideas along with those already made here in the thread. The Illinois Chapter is really taking shape now.

Looks like alot of people like the idea of having a Ford truck show next spring. Hopefully interest will continue to build between now and then, and we'll have a really big turnout.

I really don't think this get together was proposed as a competition. I believe it's spirit was meant for us to get together and have a good time and generate interest in the Illinois chapter.

Carol's right- No competition, No trophies, No dash plaques, etc. Just a fun get-together for owners of Ford trucks to generate interest in the IL Chapter.
