How can I test a MAF?

Returning to the on going saga of my 95 2.3 Ranger not running on gas. I have been tracing the problem back. I have been able to determine that everything in the entire fuel system and ignition system is in specs from the backside of the MAF to the exhaust pipe.

I have been trying to find how I can test the MAF to determine of that is the problem. Then only test information that I can find is a “Break out box T83L-50-EECIV or equivalent is needed”. Anyone have an idea what this or “it’s equivalent” might be? If this is not something that I can’t get an auto parts store, then is there a workaround test that I can use to test the MAF? I have never been a change it to test kind of guy

Thanks
