Post Lowering an Aerostar IFS

Does anyone have any experience at lowering an Aerostar ? I've patched the front unit on to my truck and it seems to sit a bit high. I was hoping an 1-1/2" to 2" drop would be a weekend change and be all I need to do.

Does anyone know of a company that handles drop spindles for this application ? (85-88 Aerostar)

Any help would be appreciated...

Thx

I have also been tring to find a way to drop my Aerostar. I'v considered may options, 1 to try the kit for a ranger, 2 maybe see if the kit for an Astro would work. But I'v been looking for a kit and cant find one made for our vans.

i work in a garage and have notice that the rear springs for a 2001 suburban have the same design as the rears in my aerostar so there is an option to consider but unable to find spindles for the front as of yet

Lowering an Aerostar IFS

My wife managed to lower one side of her '88 Aerostar. Not intentionally, of course. The front suspension spring broke (she said it made a large "sproing" sound and then the steering felt funny. So she continued on to work and called me). The spring only lost about 1/2 a turn at the bottom. And the van dropped to the point that it was good that I had the winter tires on it, as the aftermarket wheels I put the summer tires on would have rubbed.

Easy fix, only about two hours total to replace both sides. And the price was right, only about 90.00 at the local Shucks/Checker/Kragen (Or whatever their name is this month).

Cheers!
