Smile Anybody else like 73-79s?

Does anybody else like 73-79 Ford trucks? I REALLY like them. There is just something about that body style, they look SO COOL!! In 1979, my dad bought a brand-new 79 F100 shortbed, and I've been hooked on them ever since. Whenever I see a nice one, it really makes my day! Even when I see an old beat-up one, it still catches my eye. Unfortunately, 73-79s are getting really rare to see around here. In a few years, you probably won't see them on the roads anymore. I currently own 4 of them, and I intend to keep the tradition of the 70s Ford trucks going strong!

Kermit, It sounds like your family members own or have owned some very cool trucks! I like your 73 F250, it looks very nice. I am currently restoring a 73 F100. It's 2-tone white and brown. I also have a 77 F100 Flareside, a 78 F150 Ranger Lariat, and a 79 F100 shortbed.

Hey JohnT, I am also one of those 79 FORD buff's (is there any other?) I bought my 1st one brand new from Fox Lake FORD. I think I have had a 79 since I was 18. Take a peak at my gallery. I currently own 2, wife won't let me have anymore, it would be the top black F250 and the 2 tone Bronco on the bottom of my gallery. All the other truck's in my gallery are one's i have owned

Ranger 429- Both of the trucks you currently own look very nice! That 2-tone brown and tan Bronco really caught my eye. All of the other trucks you have owned over the years look really cool, too. That's ashame about what happened to the original Rollin Thunder. At least you were able to get another one to replace it. When I was 19, I got my first vehicle, a 79 Ford F150 Explorer. I've always owned at least one 70s Ford truck ever since. I currently own 4, all of which I intend on keeping forever. Over the years, I'll probably add more to my collection. In my opinion, the 73-79 Fords are the best trucks ever made!-John

Yeah it is pretty weird to see , I never really gave it much thought, that there are other guy's out there that bought a brand new 79 and just fell in love with that body style from FORD and now 25 year's later are still doing the same thing with them!! Jeez I am gettin old! I think that 79 was the best looking truck that FORD has produced yet. Just my personal preference.

Thanks for the compliment's on my truck's.

On a side note my wife went clothes shopping for my son today and found him this cool looking shirt with a picture of a truck on it with the body painted to signify an American flag. She brought it home and showed it to me and here it was, a 79 F series 4 wheel drive truck all jacked up! I could'nt believe it 25 years later and they are still using that body style for stuff like that!

You also got quite a few fine looking FORD's in your coral as well!!

That shirt with the 79 Ford on it that your son got sounds cool! When I was a kid, I had some shirts with 79 Fords and early 80s Fords on them. I used to like to wear them on school picture day when I was in grade school!

Just checking in- another 73-79 lover. I think I have 4 or 5 currently here and enough parts and pieces to build more. Current project is the next crew for a fellow member. Not to much problems with the wife and the trucks as long as she has her truck to drive too.

You can checkout my truck in my gallery. Some good looking trucks you guys got.

Awesome shirt, have to have the wife check out the local stores for the kid.

Hey 429-- car show is next weekend- sept 25 and 26. You got quite a nice little collection there your self. Trying to sell stuff at car show and not buy more. Usually seems like I come home with more stuff that I bought.
