5R55W, or 5R55S... Limitations?
I tried looking for info on the 5R55W or the 5R55S, couldn't really find much, so I decided I would start a new thread.
I am looking to buy a secondhand Explorer with a 4.6l as a "project car".
I am planning on increasing the power quite substantially via a supercharger.
I am curious:
How much power/torque can these transmissions handle?
What modifications would you expect would need to be done to increase there ability to handle more power?
(I assume a larger tranny cooler, maybe even a modified Torque Converter)
What are the differences between the 5R55W and the 5R55S?
