I have an '83 F-150 and I'm looking at either getting 33" or 35" BFGs or are there any other tires that are better, but still get good tire wear? I have a 3" body lift and I think that should be tall enough to fit those 35s in there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

I ran some nice Yokahamas in the past. Cost a little bit of $$ but heald up real nice. Check with the guys at a Big O shop, used their tires before and put about 50k on my other brand truck with them.

how are they off-road, for some reason I havent ever heard yokohama and dirt in the same sentence, and do you know if they make them in the sizes im looking for?

 

Wonderful off-road tires. I recall Ivan Stuart running them on his off road race trucks. Many sizes available, possibly only up to the 33's though.

I used them for about 50k, they were a set of Yokahama Supper Digger 5, size 30's mounted up on my T@y@t&. Did great in mud and snow, ice of of course is an issue no matter...

I'm not a BFG fan. Their mud terrains have weak side walls and I've ruin a lot of them on moutain trails. Also, there all-terrains don't do good off-road. Most people buy BFG's for the name, but you can buy a generic tire and still have a decent tire, since brand name companies make the generic tires anyway; they just do not put there name on them so that means you pay less.

But, if you want a name brand tire and works good off-road and wears good on the highway, buy ProComp Mud-terrains.

I'm sold on Michelins A/T's for tire wear and good traction/tread. I've got a 2" suspension lift on my '94 f150 and I fit 31x10.50's on there way easy. I think I'm going to get some 32x11.50's on there next time around.
