80-86 Truck Parts

What happened to all this model year of truck... either everybody is hanging on to them or they just plain disintegrate over time... I have been looking for a replacement fan shroud for the 27-1/2 wide core radiator and can find noone around Central Ohio that even comes close to having one... I'd hate to tell the wife I need to buy another "project" truck to steal a shroud from...

Good to see a local group on here, seems a little more homey...

Welcome to the OC, dada.
It is nice to have an area that is somewhat local to go to. I'm in the southwest and parts of Indiana and Kentucky are probably closer than most of Ohio, but at least it's a starting point.
Where are you located and if I had a radiator shroud, how would I know if it's what you're looking for?

Well, All I can tell you is I have an '84 F-150 and an '80 F-350 which the latter is the truck I am trying to bring some new life to... the '84's radiator core dimensions are 24"Wx19"H and the '80's radiator is 27-1/2"Wx19"H... I have the smaller shroud and am looking for the larger one... I am not sure how many different radiators and sizes are out there for the 80-86, but I think the 2 I mentioned are basically it aside from the diesels, which I have no idea.... I guess if you were to measure the outside dimensions of the "box" of the shroud (where it attaches or sits against the radiator) that would tell you if you have something close....

Thanks for your reply and let me know

Dave

Sorry dada, I went to watch a friend of mine run his Subie at the local track and by the time I left there, got my son from football practice and then home it was dark. I'll get it to you yet!

BTW, I live west of Columbus too. Whereabouts are you?

Busy weekend. I went to the Mopar Nationals just east of Columbus yesterday..
Finally got the measurements: 28 long X19 tall for the shroud.

Hope this helps.

Stan, thanks for looking, but I need to be about 2" taller than what you measured... I did find out however, the Ford dealer still sells the original for $65.... Again thanks for your time.... I now see your location listed... (opened up my eyes) I believe you are just down the road from me.... Don't forget the Farm Science Review is coming up soon... I live off the first road west of SR38 on US 40 next to the FSR grounds...

Yes, you're pretty close. Hope you get your shroud issue fixed and if you need anything else (or help doing something if I have time), just let me know..

Hello, im new here, and i am having some problems with my truck... Does anyone know where i can get a timing chain for a 1981 Ford F150 with a 300ci I6? Ive searched all over the internet, and cant find anything... the salvage yard is my best guess, but man what a job... any suggestions are really appreciated....

Thanks!

Welcome!

Are you just looking for used?
You should start a new topic. Sometimes when a thread has been around for awhile, people stop responding to it.
Also you might try the 6-cylinder forum above.
