michelle, i was thrilled to find this page. my dad had several n series trucks in his fleet of milk and livestock haulers and logged hundreds of thousands of miles in these sweet brutes.i am looking to buy one, but have not found any yet. can you help? i would love to have one. when i was young, i rode with him alot, and i can still remember looking down that sloped hood. great trucks in snow. much better than a c series. the c series radiator hung too low, and in deep snow was easily plugged.

hello Michelle, thank you for your reply. i am sorry to report that i have no pictures in my possession. i do, however, have a few new sales brochures on the n series. i live in extreme northern IL. about 50 miles west of rockford only three miles from WI. state line. i did find a n series today. it is really not too bad of shape, but would still take alot of work. i am almost considering trying to buy one that is already restored. i would prefer a 900 or 1000, but would consider anything at this point. thanks

so glad to find this thread. Im in the middle of working a deal on a N series truck from my local fire dept. The truck is beautiful and has been garaged its whole life. It has a 500 gallon "brush tank" on it. It has a gas eng. not sure of the size yet, and single rear axle. Its a two wheel drive.

I have seen that truck some where, was it on Flee bay reciently? What do you need for your truck? BTW, we now have a heavy duty truck page on this site that most of the heavy trucks stuff for the N series shows up on now days. Heres the link to it.

Hi Michelle,
After that last post and visited your site I realized that I had talked with you before some 3 years ago.
Being an ex-trucker I love that NT of yours, wanna trade LOL.
What I am looking for is the throttle cable from the gas pedal to the carburetor. It is 3' 2" in length. The truck is a 1965 N600 flatbed with a 306 cu. in. engine; 6 cyl. The ends snap onto the pedal and carburetor.
Here is a photo of the part.

Thanks ms michelle I'd appreciate it. Right now I'm trying to get my money back from an individual who sent me one that was a foot to short and defective.

I talked to him last night and he is going to check this weekend. I will be out out town next week and will be gone about a week or ten days. While I am gone I will seeing him and if he has a good one I will bring it back home with me and send it to you. Where do you live, it could be that I may be going near you on my trip.

Hi, Michelle,
Thank you very much. I really hope he will have one available.
I live at 106 Ell Pond Rd.: Wells, Maine 04090
Oh God! please tell me your on the road with the 56 tractor. Man that would be a trip, especially if your hauler is like my 65 N600 with manual steering and leaf springs that would jar the best of hemorrhoids out of you .... LOL
If you need other photo's of the truck engine compartment I have a few I did yesterday.
Have a safe trip.

I am driving my 67 N series truck. It is a pleasure to drive. Power steering, A/C, I removed the original Hindrickson tandem suspension and replaced it with a 04 International single axle air ride and stretched the wheel base at the same time. The truck now rides exceptionally well and is a real pleasure to drive long distances. My Interstate speeds are 60 to 65 which are fast enough and the 220 Cummins gets about 8 MPG with the light loads I haul.
Maine is a little off my beaten path. If Tom has one that will work for you I will have to mail it to you. BTW what engine do you have in your truck?

When I was on the road one of the trucks I drove for awhile was a COE which would jar your brains out on some roads and it had no A/C. I got stuck over the weekend in Philly with the temp over 100 degree's. Talk about melting in your seat.
Anyway the tag on the engine says it is in the 300 cu. in family and the displacement is a 306 cu. in. engine, 6 cyl.
Here's a couple of shots of the tag and the engine.
