From what I understand, I think as long as you get D plates on it it would qualify......the dealer will know for sure. With D plates you have to do safety inspections every six months and carry safety triangles in the truck.

It's a nice program for us at least, just picked up a '04 F-450 6.0l PSD on Thursday and saved over $2000.00 since we didn't have to pay sales tax on it .

Charges for the inspections vary by station.....I pay $17.00 per truck or trailer that I take in each time. Every few years the fee seems increase by $2-3.

I know that there was just a fee added to D plates and bigger last year......but I can't remember what the total is for the D plates a year, I want to say around $200.

I am new to the forum but just purchased a 2003 f250 CC 4x4 6.0 l and put D plates on it. I was my dealers idea to save me the sales tax. If your going to do this hurry up I think I heard they are closing the excemption. The plate fee per year is $183 dollars but that has a $50 tax from our govener, that is supposed to be repealed. I think the initial order for the plates for paperwork is 183 plus 125 for a total of 308 due at purchase. You have to get the vehicle inspected twice per year and the fee is around 16 to 17 dollars. Like one of the other replies I saved over 2000 dollars. The only question i have is can I switch it back to a B plate in a couple of years not sure but if I cant I still saved up front. Hope this helps

F250 Qualifications

jake00 - the F250 should qualify. Every one that I have sold since the program started has anyway. D-Plate prices vary in price with when you purchase. Later in the year, they are cheaper. If you need further details, email me, and I can dig up the information for you on Monday.
