1998 Explorer XLT Keypad Code
I have recently purchased a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT. The previous owner did not know the door keypad code, and it did not come with an owners manual or any documentation. Is there a way I can find out the code for the drivers door keypad without taking it to a dealership?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Of course the keyless entry module was also missing when I purchased the vehicle... just trying to save myself a few bucks at the dealership...
Any other responses from any one else are always welcome!
Thanks!

to get the code you need to go to drivers side back where the jack is kept, you'll find the module(raps)the code is on the back of this module.
if you don't have the keyless entry modules and want to purchase them from ford you will have to go through a procedure to program them.
We can help you with that ,if needed.

You can program a personal code for yourself, but the one from the factory stays no matter what. Sorry...

If you have the owner's manual for your Explorer, it may still have the little credit card sized card with the keyless code printed on it. If no card, then maybe a previous owner wrote the code in the manual. Check inside the front and rear covers, if not there, then open to the section on the remote keyless entry and see if it's written on those pages. Those pages will also explain how to program a personalized code once you know the factory code.
If none of that works, you may need to find someone with a professional scan tool who can access the module and read out the factory code.
