Tire size on 1999 F-250 V10

About to purchase a new set of tires for my 1999 F-250. It has 235/85 16 on it now. It says on the door the wheels are 16x7. A friend of mine has a 2001 f-250 Diesel and it came with 265/75 16. Do both of these have the same 7 inch wheel. Inside the door on his also it says 16x7 inch wheel size also. He put 285's on his, Can I put 285's on mine also? Thanks!

Same size wheel. I've got 315/75R16's on 16x7's. I think that's about the upper end size wise. 315's rub ever so slightly on the leaf springs when maxed out on a tight right turn. I've got 3.5" hangers in front.

I think my truck came stock with 265 75 R 16's.

Daren,

Welcome to FTE! 265/75's thru and including 305/75's will fit on 16X7" rims. And as has been mentioned above, 315's will fit the 16X7" rim, but will rub as noted.

I'm running the 315 75 R16 on my 00' F-250 with stock front suspension and stock wheels. Like it was mentioned, at full lock either way I have a little rub on the leaf springs but not much. The size is nice and fills the wells nicely.

Daren,
I just put a set of 285 ProComps on and all is very well. No rubbing, plus the tires don't look too big for the stock wheels.
