2004 vs 2005 F250/350 and Carsdirect.com

I am definitely new to the whole American truck scene. I've been driving import trucks for almost 20 years now, but I think that is about to change.

I drove a new F250 (4x4, V10, manual, XLT, 3.73) today. I've been test driving others, but nothing has gotten me more excited than the drive today. I plan to purchase in the next 1-4 months (no hurry) and was wondering if it might be a good idea to wait for the 2005 or just go ahead with a 2004. Is anyone aware of any significant changes or fixes on the 2005's that might make it better to hold off?

One last newbie inquiry for this post: Has anyone purchased through carsdirect.com and if so, how was that experience?

THIS SITE IS GREAT BY THE WAY!

Thanks,
Mike

Hey Mike,
Welcome! The new truck has loads of new improvements. /trucks.about.com/od/2005pickuptrucks/a/05_fseries_sd.htm Check out this link to explain some of the new improvements. Dash cluster is new and very nice also. Ford motor has a website for the 05 super duty alsofordvehicles.com/2005superduty/index.asp?bhcp=1. Hopefully this will convince you to go for the 05. I know I just ordered an 05 350 myself. As far as cars direct I have never dealt with but there are is a guy I beleive that helps run the site that gives square deals. Yeti may be able to connect you with the right person. Good Luck

arcturner-

Make sure you check out the New Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Buyer Forum. Check out the FTE Purchase Program; you can order a 2005 for $500 below factory invoice. If you're serious about a V10, I'd seriously consider the 2005. Ford's going to the 3-valve setup like they've been using on the 5.4 V8 in the F-150, which means lots more horsepower with approx. the same mileage. Lots of upgrades to brakes/wheels/frame/ suspension, as well.
