500hp lightning..fact or fiction?
I just saw a program yesterday that said ford has a 500hp lightning on the board right now that should shut those ramheads up for good....After all it's only right...They didn't really think we were gonna take this lying down...did they?Or did they think we would just "pull over and play dead"?

I can't wait for the 05' Lightning! Such a nice truck. I think Ford will nerf the 6spd because of previous customer satisfaction with the 4spd slushbox. Also i don't think we will see the claimed 22" wheels because of higher unsprung weight and unpredictable handling. Expect 18's or at the most 20's. The engine is the same as the GT, pry just chipped differently for streetability. Dual overhead cams, all aluminum block, supercooler, ram air, and an awesome TWIN SCREW supercharger designed by Kenne Bell. That sucker is gonna scream like a banshee! Everyone is pumping up the ram/viper because of its power. I bet that truck is crazy fast! But fact of the matter is you won't have to pay a gas guzzler tax w/ the lightning. The main diff between the two as stands
505 hp ram -->8.3L internal cam/pushrod
500 hp lightning -->5.4L dual overhead cam
It'll be interesting to see which truck prevails on both strip and track. ^^

Not sure about HP. I would imagine it to get at least 500 HP like the concept. It sounds like they are really going to work to reduce weight to better it's power to weiight ratio.

While nobody can say for certain what the 06 Lightning Engine or tranny combo will be, Dont over look other possibilities.
Depending on where we are with Fuel prices, I would love to see Ford install the V10 that they featured in the new Cobra concept.
With over 600 hp and Torque to match, this would be the ultimate performance truck platform.
