6-Disc in-dash from '03 Lightning to '02 Harley....

Looks like it would work but there's a bracket sloping down that stops the 6 disc in-dash from sliding in. Anybody got any input? Can this be removed?

I've heard some people have cut that piece to install some larger (double DIN) stereos. I don't think it does any harm, but double check on that. Maybe if you post at the car audio/video forum, someone can verify this.

I have cut the bracket on several of my trucks with no ill effect. As a matter of fact ford does sell a correct version to fit. But why?
