No parts stores seem to carry this or even know what it's called. Tried Napa, Checkers, Autozone, Advance Auto, and even a local tranny shop(they said I would have to order the whole kit). I would prefer to get it locally but Ill order online also. Part number please. Thanks

Married C6 and NP205..'78 Bronco Custom, 400,C6,4.11, 33" tires, 3" body + 4"lift, dual exhaust, 4 core radiator,etc...

 

Ther is a place north east of I-70 and peoria, can't think of the name but can get you info Friday. Went there when I was rebuilding my C6 and they have loads of goodies. As a side bar, what about making your own gasket with material from the local parts store or a nice bead of sealant

I did finally find a gasket from elway ford dealer..its part # Ford E7TZ-7086-A..It's pretty much the same gasket except it doesn't have the little notch cut out, but all the bolt holes and everything else lines up.

I bought my 78 bronco(with a dead engine (cheap)) a little over a year ago and finally got my engine rebuild done. I really don't know how the truck runs, (ie.. tranny,trans case,diffs,brakes) so I may need to rebuild transmission. Hopefully all is well as I really don't have the funds. I did take a peek inside when I changed the tranny filter and the thing is spotless(clean fluid and no particles). It looks as though it has been rebuilt before just as the previous owner specified. Also the tranfer case looks good too from what I could see through the access cover. Just need to get the engine off the stand and into the truck.

 

Congrats on your find and it sounds like the trans will be good for you. If there was no sludge layer on the bottom of the pan or bigger particles, you whould be good for a while. Here is the info on the trans place, let us know how the project comes out.
