Question 2000 F-350 4x4 Dually, Is it Worth it?????

I am looking at a 2000 f-350 dually. It is a 4x4 lariat and looks really nice. All options work on it, and there is very little wear on the interior. The exterior is emmaculate. The dealership is willing to take $7k drive out. It has a clear title, but here is the kicker. 550,000 on the odometer certified by carfax. Should I consider this truck, or just walk away. I have always trusted this site for input.

Thanks in advance!

Talking Dually

Hey there. I have to say wow 550000 miles. That is alot. I guess the way i would have to say do you think the truck is worth some more miles? Have you taken it on the road and test drove it? If so. Does it handle well? Also if your gonna spend the money on the truck. I would suggest to take it to a dealer and spend some extra money to look it over. Give it a good fine tooth coming put it on the lift and just go all over it like there is a special prize hidden and try to find it. For 7 grand i would say that is a good deal just as long as the engine and trans are fine i would pay that for it. Good luck on the truck and 550000 miles is a rechord to me for a powerstroke i havent heard of any over that. I know of a cummins that has over a million it is a 95 model. The guy is waiting for a few to catch up so they can have a million mile club. Take care and hope the truck works out for you.

Hey, if you decide to get it, keep me posted on how it does. It would be nice to know just how far a properly maintained Powerstroke will last. It might make more people Powerstroke fans.

I think aroung 18k is the blue book on a similar truck with a 100k on it. If you can get a new rear, new tranny and new engine for less than 11k you might have a great deal. Also if you could find out weather any of those things have been replaced and when. I would have the compression checked on the engine at the very least.
