What was your first ride?

We've heard what we drive now, but what did you have first?
My first ride was a 1973 Chevy Stepside pick-up. Three on the tree. Gas gauge didn't work, but tank was right behind the seat. Just got out and rocked the truck a little to hear how much gas was in there. That truck never did let me down, started everytime. Didn't pick up too many girls at school with it though.

Well, my first vehicle was a 1978 Chevy Caprice. 350 eng. 350 trans. 300,000 miles on it when I sold it. White with a black vinyl top. I had air shocks on it so I could jack that thing way up. I blew the transmission and the rear end, and threw the driveshaft at the same time. I had just got out of high school and bought myself a car. Well I paid too much for it. $500 It lasted a year. What a car.

1947 F2 Ford 3/4 ton truck, 4 speed non syncro tranny with a flat head 6 banger. It was the Deluxe version with the AM tube radio that took 2 minutes to come on after you turned it on. God I wish I still had it.

Mine was a 1969 Chev Camaro with three speed, stock console gauges, tach, and rear defogger. Looked like a rocket, but was mechanically all stock. First gear could almost get the front wheels off the ground. I owned it for 5 years. Bought it for $1700, sold it for $3600!!!

1984 F-250 4X4 460 4spd. Bought it at 16 and still got it. I just had to add a crew cab to the fold for the family outings.

Not too many Fords for first cars! I guess Chevy's are cheaper I was the only one in my high school with a mustang in my class. First car was 1973 Mach 1 with 351 Cleveland 2 barrel but it would flat out go!! Until it met a guardrail

Mine was a 1986 F-150 4x4 Camper Special motivated by a 300-6 with a 4spd. Had to use it on the farm and drive it to college so i didnt lift or modify it but i sure pulled a lotta people out of mud holes with it. Still have it tucked away in a shed for nostalgia with 200,000 + miles on it.

I got her at 60k miles, and kicked her to the curb when the tranny went out around 80k for $500.
