I have a 93 F250 and I was wondering what other years had the same bolt pattern. Obviously the 87-97 would fit but are there any other years that would fit?

 

The bolt pattern is 8x6.5". Most 3/4 tons and one tons from Ford, Chevy and Dodge used that bolt pattern from the '70's through the late '90's.

The difference between Chevy and the other 2 is the size of the center hole. If I remember this correctly, Chevy wheels had the smaller dia center hole, so you can use a Ford or a Dodge wheel on a Chevy, but a Chevy wheel only fits on Chevys. It could be the other way around on the center hole size, my memory isn't what it used to be, but I think I got it right.

 

just remember the new superduties use the 8x170mm pattern, so they are not interchangeable

 

Yes I had a 1992 F250 and then I got a 2001 F250, the wheels are NOT interchangable

 

8 lug 6.50 bolt circle began in 1953 on F250's and in 1967 on F350's.

Ford went to metric wheels in 1997 on F Series trucks.

My question is, I have a '97 F250 Superduty, what is the bolt pattern on the '97/'98 models? I think it's still standard 6.5 pattern, but I can't find much info on these two year model trucks. I even have to ask for parts for a '96 when I go to the parts stores or they give me the wrong parts!

 

1997 was a weird transition year, but because you called your truck an F-250 superduty I'm not sure what you have, though the parts comment at the end leads me to believe you have a 1996-style truck. It is NOT a superduty unless it says superduty on it, and in 1997 if you had one it would be the equivalent of an F-450.

Ford stopped making F-250's in late 1997, and they used up all the leftover parts from 1996 in doing so. 1997 F-250's that look exactly like the 1996 trucks *are* the same truck. All parts will interchange and they have the SAE 8 x 6.5" lug pattern.

In 1998 Ford made a light duty F-250 that looked just like the 1998 F-150. The only easily visible differences are the badges and the lug pattern, which is a very bizarre 7-lug wheel. I don't know what the pattern is, but it's the only 7-lug pattern I've ever seen.

In 1999 Ford came out with the redesigned superduty with the more aggressive looking front end and metric lug pattern.

 

OK, thanks for the info. Mine does look just like a '92-'96 model, and it does say Superduty on it under the F250 on both sides. Though from what you said, I'm sure it was installed aftermarket. Anyway, I didn't understand why '97-'98 SD/HD trucks had the old body style. That clears up a lot. Guess now anytime I order something for my truck I'll just tell them it's a '96.

 

99-04 was the year the Superduty went to 8-170mm, prior to that some even had 10 lug patterns on the superduty but most 87-98 used the 8-6.5" pattern

97-03 f150 use a 5-135mm pattern and some heritage 2004 models

 

If I buy a set of rockstars off a 08 6.6 will the fit my 03 350 7.3????

 

As far as I know they will fit. They should still be 8x170mm.

Oh, an update: I bought a set of OEM Dodge wheels to put on my truck and found out the center hole is just slightly too small for the Ford axles. In fact, I didn't find out until the next day when I could hear my brake drums rattling because the wheels wouldn't tighten up all the way.

I swear I bought one of the black caliper types from FleaBay a while back for less than $10 each brand new-----can't find that same deal now though!

Some of these are exactly what tire shops etc use----they'll do it all!

 

I bought a 1975 F-250 and the guy gave me a set of 16" rims and tires to go with it, since the 16.5" tires are being phased out by most dealers and the 16's are easier and cheaper to get. Any way to make a long story short instead of being the 8 6.5" bolt pattern these new rims are the metric 8-170's. So now I need to find some 16" rims that will fit my truck. I know that the GM 8 lug rims have a 6.5" b.p. but is the center hole going to be large enough? Any help will be appreciated.

Should be 8 x 6.5. The new ones are metric. Chevy and dodge still use the 8 x 6.5 pattern to this day iirc.
