I promise, not gonna be a wanna be.

I recently bought the F150 in my signature. After years of driving large Ford pickups with 4 wheel drive, I felt something a little more comfortable and fast would be fun. I put a Flowmaster exhaust system on it and the power is good enough for me. I would like to sharpen up the handling though. It has a front sway bar but no rear sway bar. I am going to lower it slightly, I have seen a 2-4 drop and don't like the look. I am thinking 1-2. Since you lightning owners know this style F150 so well, I was hoping for a few recommendations on how best to improve the stock suspension. I want to get the suspension sorted out before indulging in 18 inch wheels and tires. I solemnly promise to leave the XLT badges intact. Any one willing to share some wisdom?

Wow, this is a tough room. 92 views and no replies. Was it something I said? Ran into a couple of Lightning owners at a recent car show and they put their heads together and gave me a plan for suspension improvements in steps as money allows. So all is well that ends well.

Welll, you put a non-Lightning post in a Lightning section, what do you expect? Put it in the standard F150 forum and you're sure to get answers.

Point taken, Ken. I posted my request here because I wanted to know what it would take to get my suspension close to what a Lightning has and who better to ask than the man who owns one. And in the end it was a pair of Lightning owners that did enlighten me so to speak.
