scale location in greater NY city area??

Anyone know of a decent way to locate weight scales? I've done quite a bit of searching on NYDOT site and elsewhere on the internet but turned up nothing useful. I'm in the process of finding a used truck (someplace in the NY/NJ/CT tristate area) and would really like to roll it across a scale before I sign the papers? I've scowered the forums and found broad data on weights but recognize the wisdom that it can vary alot for any particular vehicle. I'm looking at f250s and will be have a load that puts me near the limits of that vehicle so I want to be prepared in case the dealer doesn't know the nearest location.

You could try a county or local village DOT or land fill. They might charge you a couple of bucks, but may be worth a try.

take it to your nearest truck stop and weigh it. They have scales there.
