performance hood
yo,
thanks for all the help, i have decided to buy a 2001 lightning, i ran the carfax, came up clean and it is stock, never been modded or chipped, so she is clean! now it is time to throw some **** on it, anyone have a good website where i can find such mods as a scooped hood or a good brand name for these. also i want a hard tonneu cover with the hydraulic rams on each side to hold it up so you dont have to, anyone know where i can find that, much appreciation as always
matt

I've got the Suncoast Creations functional ram air hood on mine. The fit and finish were great and it's only 14 lbs. heavier than the stock aluminum hood. The factory hood supports hold it up just fine.
Two things I would recommend....... DO NOT order the ram air adapter kit (it's a rip off). All you need in some 1/2 inch thick insulating foam tape (Home Depot) and a K&N filter (NR33-2633). They want $150 for this "kit" and you can purchase it elsewhere for less than $50.
Also, don't have the windshield washer nozzel holes drilled out at their shop. It looks better without them.
