airbox mod

I have heard about removing something in the airbox on 4.0s. I assume I can do the same on my 98 3.0, right? What exactly are they talking about?

Well, in my 93 there was a silencer cone that reduced the intake area to about a 2" inlet, I pulled that out and it helped a little on the top end. See if there is one in yours.
