Welcome to FTE!

Well, you could purchase a chip from this site & also check out the online store here.

I haven't met anyone involved in Diesel performance ,from our neck of the woods yet.

I'm in the RD area and looking for a 7.3L IDI mechanic to tell me what the heck i need to do to generate some power.
Called a few places.... nobody wants to work on diesels around here.

That seems strange, given the amount of Cummins on the streets in red deer.

Anyone recommend a place??

I called Ray over at Stirling.

Once I started mentioning me having a turbo and stuff, he pointed me to Central Alberta Injection.

I'll give them a call later this week.

Thanks for the direction.

Anybody watch "Trucks" on Speed TV this past Sunday?
They did an F-250 diesel up with a "Banks 6 Gun" performance kit & 4" exhaust. No doubt it would be pricey, but there is a control with 6 settings that go from stock performance to tire shreading diesel grunt!

Just one link:

Don't know what happened to the link!

Fordracerman, well now...I've been adding modifications to my '95 for about 6 years now, and alot depends on what you want to spend!

Personally, after looking through the "dealers" section here on this site, I have to say that there certainly are many other places to get as good, or better quality of performance items from than those here!

You are welcome to e-mail me if you are interested in any particular mods, and I know a few guys now in excess of 500 rear wheel horsepower, with a few now over the 600 rear wheel horsepower!
I personally don't have my goals set that high, as getting in the high 400's would be my ultimate goal, as anything over about 525 RWHP you need to pull the engine and do some block/head mods.
You can basically do "bolt on" mods up to this point though!

This "Power Performance" issue has been gone over time and time again, on another "top" Ford Diesel forum, (over 40,000 members) and BANKS makes quality products, but as many have discovered, found them to be very expensive. There certainly are other ways to discover as high or higher performance modifications for less $$.

I have a host of mods, and once I opened up my air intake and exhaust..and added gauges, found that our Powerstrokes definitely need more fuel & programming to get them to really move. Of course adding more engine power has proven that mods should go into the transmission as well (which I've done) and those 1/4 mile track times will come down immensely.

So, to get to the higher HP limits, you need air, exhaust, chip programming, fuel system depending on how high a HP you want to get to, aftermarket injectors and turbo, amongst a few other not so expensive goodies.
Then...just hold on!

I have some good links to many of the above modifications for anyone that is interested.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news (good to many!) that you don't have to order performance parts from your home town! Of all my many mods, there certainly aren't many from here locally...or for that matter even Canada!

Most goodies come from south of the border folks, and the sources are endless down there, from internal aftermarket parts, right up to BIG turbo's and injectors...all easy to get, but you do have to pay for shipping!

The newer mods recently available are the 6 position chips from several sources, and the SUPER DUPER high pressure oil pumps, for those wanting BIG power.
Some of the new pumps are a dual high pressure oil pump, where others are single pumps, but put out alot more volume than the stock pumps.
I currently am running an '02 HPOP on my '95, and it works quite well for my 250cc injectors. No fuel issues yet (no CEL) but I can tell I need a turbo to give me alot more air, as she sure smokes in the high chip setting!

So, if you want top notch performance parts, you can buy just about anything you want...right from your computer these days. I am set up with Paypal, and its worked out quite well in making transactions much easier.

If you are willing to travel a little bit (or they might ship it to you, i don't know) I would get a hold of Off Road Canada in Lethbridge (2hrs south of calgary) and although they don't have a lot in stock they can get you anything you could deesire. But be sure you know what you want cause the guy that owns the place will confuse you with all the options you can get as he's been around for over 25 years. Also you could try Summit as well, their prices are usually pretty low too.

I was up in Camrose this week.
I see there is a place called ontrack (corner of HWY 13 and 21).
They do diesel mods, - although mostly powerstroke, cummins and duramax.

Talked to Brent in parts and sales.
They do alot of testing there as well, if you need injector pump, injectors or whatever tested.

Not much hope for us pre-powerstroke guys, but they do sell trannys and exhaust kits / turbos, etc.

Of course, for the newer diesels, they can chip you right out to the max...

Outdoorsman...it looks like you are nearly at the extreme of getting power from your IDI, although I suppose you could add a little propane to the mix for a wee bit more power.

Let us all know if you find more in other ways, and best of luck!
