Egr Valve For 5.4l

I recently got a check engine light and after having it scanned was told it was the egr,, well got the EGR valve, and now cant find one on my motor. Took it up to Oreillys since the manager there says he has a truck identical to mine, and he says my truck does not have one? His was easy to locate, mine is way different I guess. My build date is 11\99 as a 2000 model. Anyone have a picture? Sure would like to fix this problem. Did the spark plug change today, MAN WHAT A PAIN.. But its done, now if i could just find this egr valve abd get it changed maybe i could go back to liking my truck again. Thanx for all the help guys...

MRBASS how much did the ford motorsport headers cost, which of your upgrades listed gave you the best boost?

Its been a few years but best i can remember the headers were about 400 bucks. best bang for the buck????????? i would say probably the Superchip and the K&N Filter kit. Didnt really notice any difference with the headers to tell ya the truth..

The EGR is a, (for lack of a better term) disc looking thingy on the top of your motor. It has a white sticker with a bunch of numbers & Letters on it. You SHOULD have one......On my 99 its on the drivers side of the engine towards the back. When you buy a new one the numbers should match. Who sold one without knowing the numbers???

I actually ended up at the dealer and they changed the dpfe sensor and said i dont have an egr valve. When i went to napa they have a part number for it and the one i got was exactly as you described. but there is not one on my truck,, at least theres not one like that. I'm no mechanic, but a decent wrench I think and I cant find a EGR valve anywhere on this motor..

No EGR on my truck either.....
2001 F-250 w/ 5.4

Wonder if the 5.4 in the SD has to meet the same EPA regs as in the F-150 or exp?

I also noticed that we only have one catalytic converter and two O2 sensors BEFORE the converter (hopefully this will make mods easier :-))
