Power Steering Pressure Switch

I was recently working on my 1992 Ford Bronco and found a wire that was burnt from touching the exhaust manifold. I think it goes to a Power Steering Pressure Switch.? I looked it up in a Hanes Manual. The wires are Yellow/Light Green - and - Grey/Red. The grey/red wire supposedly is connected to the EGR valve, air temp. sensor, and the throttle position sensor. Can anyone tell me where I can find this Power Steering Pressure Switch under the hood. I have looked and cannot find. Could this cause the truck to stall when coming to a stop? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Power Steering Pressure Switch

Your power steering pressure switch is mounted in the pressure line going to the steering gear box. Just follow your power steering lines from the pump and you will run right into it. It is screwed into the line, and is only (I think) available from Ford. Or a wrecking yard, which is where I grabbed mine at, when I did the engine swap.

1988 F-150, SWB, 5.0 EFI (formerly 4.9 EFI), M5OD 5 speed, 3.08 gears, Summit shorty truck headers, Custom built Flowmaster exhaust system. Force 4 LP6000 lightbar, Federal signal PA-300 100 watt siren, Icom IC-V100 50 watt mobile radio.

Power Steering Pressure Switch

I work with a Volunteer dept in SE Texas. Right now we have around 45 members, and have an area of 51+ Square miles. We have a website that I have been trying to work on in my spare time (when I have some that is.)

[link:www.westlakevfd.org|Westlake VFD]

Let me know what you think, I haven't had much time to work on the site (either one) but not all of our equipment is up on the site yet. We have currently 2 stations, with 2 engines and 1 tanker at our secondary station (750 gpm, and a 1,000 gpm pumper, and a 1500 gallon tanker) and our primary station holds our 2,000 gal tanker, our primary engine (1,000 gal capacity, and 1,000 gpm pump) our secondary engine (750 gal capacity, and 750 gpm pump) our rescue truck (750 with 750 pump) and 1 (of three) ambluances.

And get this, all of our equipment except one engine (at our secondary station) is ALL FORD! Our trucks range in age from 1964 - 1979 Engines, tankers, and rescue truck. Our ambulances are all Ford as well, 1985 - 1993. The one engine that is not a FOrd is an International Diesel. Which I don't mind but I've never personally even been behind the wheel of it. But I have been behind the wheel of about every other piece of apparatus we have, save for the big tanker. I am a Lieut. on the rescue truck and have only been in our dept for a little over a year.
