rear differential identification

Hi, i need help identifying my rear differential on a 82 F-250. The tag on the differential reads as follows; 3.54 E2TA-BKA 605040 6 L S .The tag was difficult to read , i believe i have it correctly. Thanks.

Sounds like a Dana 60 3.54:1.

thanks for the reply, but i need to know for sure in order to buy a locker. how do i tell if it's a dana 61? all i know is that it's not a 9 inch ford because the bolts are on the outside.

It definately shouldn't be a 9", as they were only put in half ton trucks and some cars.

It's probably not going to be a Ford 10.25" because they weren't introduced until '83.

I hesitate to say for certain without seeing it, because a lot of the time you just don't know what's under these things after 20 years.

You may could try calling or emailing DynaTrac (?? spelling) with the info. They guy I dealt with was very helpful and they replied within a couple of days when I emailed.

That's a Dana 61 Full Float, 3.54 ratio according to Dana's website. But it also shows to be for the F-350 instead of an F-250.
