Best plugs for 98 F150 4.6L?

Fist of all, THANKS RACERGUY for the pointers on changing the spark plugs!! I'm not sure I would have been as motivated to change them without the guidance. Anyhow - my question is, what are the best plugs for performance, milage etc? Any suggestions? Thanks for the input!

Motorcraft is the way to go. They last along time and are priced right. Performance is good too.

Dave,

Autolite & Motorcraft spark plugs are both made by Honeywell,
a division of Allied Signal. Fram is also a division of Allied Signal,
and you are correct about not using anything with a Fram name
on it....

I was told that Motorcraft plugs werent made by Honeywell anymore but that could be wrong
I've seen a lot of problems with Autolite plugs and have heard of other people with problems with them too.

Yes,it is true Autolite and Motorcraft are both made by Allied-Signal,who is owned by Honeywell. But,Motorcraft are made to a different specification then Autolite.Ford has them made to there specifications. How do I know this?I was curious about it,so I emailed www.autolite.com and they themselves sent me an email stating all the above information.

So,if I were to use a plug in my Ford,it would be a Motorcraft.

I would shy away from the NGK Iridium. As soon as I installed them the truck was harder to start. I would guess that the gap is excessive but the instructions said not to adjust the gap because the tip is so small.

They are also very expensive.

I am tempted to find a set of Motorcraft and install them. I find more and more reasons to stay with stock components.

Since only the center electrode is iridium, half of your plugs will
wear out prematurely, due to the opposite spark polarities with
the EDIS ignition system...Stay with Motorcraft double platinums!!

The oil filters are.....there has been a lot of posts on the problems
with Fram oil filters......Personally, I'm a believer in using the
manufacturer's OEM oil filter, so I use Motorcraft on my Fords,
and Mann (German filter mfg.) filters on my Mercedes'
