Hi everyone, i'm looking into putting a 3 inch lift on my 94 4x4 4.0L ranger. I'm wondering about how cheap i can get one for, and how hard it is to put one in and what kind of equipment i will need to do it. any info would be great, thanks

 

Performance Accesories 3" body lift. Should cost you $100 or less. Expect to take a 3 day weekend if your truck is a little rusty and if your doing it solo. Would reccomend seeking a qualified freind to help.

 

My friend did it to his 1991 bronco in a day or two. Looks pretty good, but not quite liek a good ol' suspension. It cost him $150 from PEP Boys. The noticable change is the 3" gap between the front/rear bumbers and the body. They sell cover up kits for the gap.
However, the kit isn't the cheapest way. Get some hockey pucks, drill holes in them. get the appropriate length of bolt from Home Depot (never use Lowes, they suck) and mount your pucks as high as you want the lift.
I cannot see a Ranger looking right with a body lift. Some vehicles can pull it off (all can once you have over 8" of suspension lift) without any other additions.

 

Yeah i should have said that i was looking into getting a suspension lift, i was looking at body lifts and the gap thing kinda bugs me, plus i could use some new suspension anyway

 

The kit for a 94 should have bumper lifting brackets. I have seen it done and it looks very nice.

 

cool, cause i just downsized my tires from 265/75R15's to 235/75R15's, basically cause i need to get better gas mileage and smaller tires were cheaper. so now the truck rides a little lower to the ground. and i dont like low riders

Anybody ever had a rough country sus. lift? Its about $300 on jcwhitney and i was wondering if its any good, i know i'll probalby need to get new front shocks, but if anyone has had any experience with one their wisdom would be great. I also heard that a sus. lift was eaisier to install than a body lift, was wondering if that was true. any info would be great

 

Some of the hardcore offroad guys don't care for rough country. They prefer superlift and skyjacker. Some people local to me have their kits and I have never heard complaints. Go to their website www.roughcountry.com. You may find a better price. At the bottom of their hompage you can ask the "answerman" a question. They have always returned my email the next day with quality answers for all my questions. I'm looking to finish my 2" kit with the frontend parts to their 2.5" kit.
