I have the Hayes manual for my truck 1994 f150 4x4, 4.9L, but when I check the wiring diagram for my distibutor it does not match what is under the hood, the firing order is entirely different. truck starts great, but tends to stumble on the odd occasion, specialy when it is half warmed up, any one out there with a similar problem ?

 

I can't say anything about the wiring, though I did read recently there were two different firing orders for the inlines. (?)

But besides checking the timing for your stumble, and typical tune-up pieces, I can't say enough good things about the EGR restrictor plate I made for my 1993 4.9. I installed it last weekend, and as of driving it around even this morning I am still amazed at how much more smoothly it runs, idels and doesn't hesitate from a stop.

Think about making one.

Are trying to hook up a tach and wanting to know which wire at the coil to hook it up to?
If you are its the negative one, the wire closest to the intake, think its red with a green stripe, if my memory serves me correct.
