Build A Lightning
I know that it was mentioned below about turning a non lightning into a lightning, but i just wanted to know, what would be the first thing to do, if i were to turn my 2001 F-150 stepside into a lightning? i know i have to have the holy grail of ford engines, body kit, exhaust, interior seats, wheels/tires. Is there anything i am forgetting? How much would it cost for each of these upgrades?
I am a highschooler, so price is definetly a factor, sorry i cant just drop $25,000 on a truck. i was looking to spend around $4000 engine, $1000 bodykit, $300 exhaust, $2000 interior, $1500 wheel/tire. does this seem about right?
Any info, will be greatly appreciated

The seats themselves are probably about a grand. That'll be used. Throw in the fact that L's have unique door panels and a different guage cluster and you are talking near $2000. The L also has a beefed up 4R100 with a 9.75" 3.55/3.73 LS rearend. Also big discs on all four corners. Different springs at all four corners as well as Bilstein shocks all the way around. Also a 5" aluminum driveshaft. I don't think any of those things except the LS rearend (and those are an option) are on regular F150's. I'll see if I can think of any other differences.
